Meet Shelby

Transformational Speaker Focused on the Power of Personal Identity & Image.

I was 17 when I knew I would become a speaker. This was the most shocking news of my young life because I did not like speaking in front of people, I was terrified of having everyone looking at me and that I would mess up.

This dream chose me. And it would not leave me alone (I tried for a couple of decades).

As I started doing some personal growth work and facing myself I started to acknowledge it. To say okay, if this isn't going away, what do I want to do to prepare myself.

I started with joining a local toastmasters group, putting my hand up if there were speaking opportunities, I took some more in-depth speaker training.

I remember the day I got my first Keynote speaking opportunity. It was 2018 and I was invited to speak at a rural women's conference in Alberta. I could not believe it, it was actually happening and they chose me!

Something I identified after a couple of Keynotes is that I didn't want to only talk about style. That is what I was becoming known for because I founded a personal styling business. I love this work and the impact it makes in peoples' lives. And I knew I wanted to speak about something more.

This is where those internal doubts creep in...'What do I have to say anyway? Why even bother going after this dream, no one wants to hear what you have to say anyway.'

Those nasty stories we tell ourselves and shape our personal identity as well as our image and how we physically show up in the world.

When the Entrepreneur bug hits

I knew there was something for me beyond the style. That would remain an important piece of it, however not the main thing.

I started to pay attention to my clients and how they were approaching their style. This led me to Personal Identity. This is all about how we see ourselves, which is vital to how we show up.

I couldn't stop there, simply knowing this. I wanted more of an impact.

This led me to create a signature program called Authentic You. I took both my personal lessons and lessons I learned from working with my style clients to create a program that acknowledges the unique parts of who we all are and addresses how we see ourselves now and who we want to become to fulfill the vision for our lives.

This is the signature program for Black Sheep Co., a personal growth business I co-founded with Danielle Mohr.

Impact starts internally and is expressed through our external image.

I am humbled daily that I have this opportunity to impact people at their core. I do this through both my businesses and speaking to rooms of people who are ready to lead their life at the next level.

Meet the businesses

These businesses are the life of what I do.

They are an expression of the impact I am here to make.
